Celebrating 68 Years of Indian Independence

15th Aug 2014...Red Fort, New Delhi

I am more than hundred year older now and have seen many kings ruling India, leaders leading India. I have seen Mughals, British, independent Indians in my lifetime. You must have forgot me....I am the Red Fort which lies in your memories at least once a year when the prime minister of India speaks to the nation every 15th Aug with flying Tiranga. Today I am feeling like never before, I am too feeling free for the first time in my life time. and you know the reason...the reason is the man who speaks to the nation is not the Pradhan Mantri but he says himself Pradhan Sevak of Indians. I can smell the prosperity and growth of India in the air. This is the time our ancesstors were waiting to see and I believe that the dream of Mahatma Gandhi will come true very soon. The way how the current prime minister of India Narendra Modi was speaking to the nation in the morning without any bullet proof wall clearly sends the message to the negative powers and terrorists that India will not tolerate anything on its soil now. We all will be secured and grow day by day, week by week, month by month and year by year.

Narendra Modi said in his speech on the 68th Independence day of India that he would do everything to grow India in the world. The major areas in his agenda were safety to women, cleaniness, developing toilets in every school, creating model villages by every parliament member, security and safety for citizens. After the speech, prime minister met with the children who came to perform during the Indian independence day at Lal Qila, Delhi. Jai Hind!!!

India hope is still alive in 2014 New Zealand Tour

25th Jan 2014 Ind vs NZ, Ravindra Jadeja helps Indian team to tie 3rd ODI against New Zealand on the last ball of the game. New Zealand scored 314 with Guptill's century. Useful contributions also came from Kane Williamson (65) and Luke Ronchi (38). India was chasing New Zealand's target of 315. NZ Opener Martin Guptill scored 111 to reach New Zealand such a big total. Indian hopes were dead when India lost some quick wickets in the game.

Chasing the big score India lost 4 wickets at 79 when Dhawan and Rohit became fail for another time. In the end, Ashwin played a knock of 65 and Jadeja did the rest of the miracle with 45-ball unbeaten 66 to save India from the 3rd consecutive loss in the ODI series.

India needed 18 runs off Anderson's last over for a victory which looked almost impossible till the last ball of the match. Ravindra Jadeja and last man Varun Aaron could get 17 to tie the game in the final over. Finally, Indian hopes are alive and we still believe that India can win the rest of the two ODIs to level the series.

Devyani Khobragade seeks dismissal of visa fraud case

Indian diplomat Devyani Khobragade appealed in a federal court to dismiss the visa fraud case against her the day after her return to India. Her lawyer Daniel Arshack submitted a four-page document for "motion seeking dismissal of action for lack of personal jurisdiction" on 09th Jan 2014. Devyani Khobragade was found guilty for visa fraud and making false statements. She flew back to India on an Air India flight after she got diplomatic immunity.

The US State department has assured Devyani Khobragade that her departure in compliance with their order does not constitute a violation of the terms of her release from the court on bond of $250,000 on the charges she faces.

Her lawyer said that since Devyani has been given diplomatic status, she has "automatically" been vested with diplomatic immunity from criminal liability in the US while she continues to maintain such diplomatic status.
